Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 2027

What is the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration?

The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration is an inspirational music show held during Super Bowl week, with guest artists performing alongside the NFL Players Choir. A February 2026 release on the Gospel Music Association’s site calls it “the only NFL-sanctioned inspirational event” during “the biggest weekend in sports.”

Melanie Few is its founder and executive producer. Jesus Freak Hideout described her in 2025 as an “Atlanta-based marketing consultant,” and a 2024 Essence profile called her “one of the first Black women licensed by the NFL.”

What happened to the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration?

It was renamed in 2023. A January 31, 2023, release announced the 24th season as the “Super Bowl Soulful Celebration: An Evening of Inspiration and Culture” “(formerly Super Bowl Gospel Celebration),” with a live taping at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Ariz., during Super Bowl LVII week. The 2022 show was the last under the old name, billed as the “23rd Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration.”

According to Essence, the rebranding “aimed to broaden the event’s appeal without alienating its loyal fanbase.” Few told the magazine, “We were very careful to keep our long-time traditional followers and supporters engaged.” The NFL Players Choir was billed under both names, in 2022 and again in 2023, 2025 and 2026.

Is there a Super Bowl Soulful Celebration in 2027?

No 2027 edition had been announced as of October 13, 2026. We found no date, venue, host or network, and the organizer’s website still promoted the February 7, 2026, BET premiere, with an email sign-up “for details on tickets and exclusive announcements.”

A live, ticketed show isn’t a given. The 2026 edition took what its release called “a reimagined, broadcast-first approach,” filmed “in curated segments across Los Angeles and San Francisco during Super Bowl week festivities,” and that release mentioned no tickets or audience. Whether a 2027 edition would be staged before a crowd is unknown.

Other Super Bowl LXI week events are on our week schedule. One that has set its date is the Super Bowl Breakfast, also NFL-sanctioned, on February 13, 2027.

Can you buy Super Bowl Soulful Celebration tickets?

Not for 2027, because none have been announced. In earlier years, tickets were sold for the shows staged before an audience: the 2023 taping at Mesa Arts Center, the 2024 25th-anniversary taping at the Pearl Theater in Las Vegas and the 2025 show at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans.

We found no ticket information for the 2026 BET special. For 2027, the organizer’s email sign-up for ticket news was the only route we found, and StubOrder’s page, filed under the old Gospel Celebration name, had no dates on October 13, 2026.

When did the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration start?

It started in Miami in 1999, during Super Bowl XXXIII. The 2026 release says it was “founded in 1999 during Super Bowl XXXIII,” and Jesus Freak Hideout wrote in 2025 that it was “conceived in 1999 as a gospel brunch in Miami.” Essence likewise described its start as “a modest gospel brunch.”

Few’s own account begins earlier. In Essence’s 2024 profile, she said, “We initially pitched the idea in 1991 and it took us 7 years to get a YES and become sanctioned by the NFL.”

Since 2022 the format has shifted from year to year: a three-city taping for Bounce during the COVID pandemic, ticketed tapings in Mesa and Las Vegas, a New Orleans show that aired on Fox and, in 2026, the segment-filmed BET special.
