Neither event comes with a Super Bowl LXI game ticket. The NFL hasn’t said whether fans can attend the Pro Bowl celebration or the Pro Flag Showcase; for a seat at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027, see our game ticket guide.

Is there a Pro Bowl game in 2027?

No. The NFL says it “will no longer stage an AFC vs. NFC Pro Bowl game,” so the flag football matchup played at the Pro Bowl Games from 2023 to 2026 is gone. News outlets reported the change in late August 2026, and as Cox Media Group put it, “After 75 years, the NFL is scrapping the Pro Bowl.”

Players will still be named Pro Bowlers. NFL executive Troy Vincent said the new direction “came directly from our continued conversations with players and what they value most about the Pro Bowl.” NFL executive Peter O’Reilly, as quoted by Cox Media Group, said, “It’s OK to be the first league to walk away from a competitive all-star game.”

When and where is the 2027 Pro Bowl celebration?

In Los Angeles, on a date the NFL hasn’t announced. The league says it will bring the 2027 Pro Bowl class together “during the traditional Pro Bowl weekend in Los Angeles,” and that details on the celebration, roster reveal and flag football programming will follow. No venue has been named.

The NFL describes “an in-person celebration recognizing the players, their families and the significance of earning the distinction.” It says nothing about fan attendance or tickets. The 2026 Pro Bowl Games took place on Tuesday, February 3, during Super Bowl LX week rather than on a weekend, so wait for the NFL’s own dates before making plans.

What is the Pro Flag Showcase?

It’s a new annual flag football event from the NFL and TMRW Sports, created to open Super Bowl week. The two announced it on September 21, 2026: the first edition is “set for Super Bowl LXI week in Los Angeles” at a custom-built venue. Field Level Media reported the same day that no exact date had been set and the location hadn’t been disclosed.

The NFL says it “will feature the world’s top flag football players,” with NFL Pro Bowlers, Hall of Famers and other legends serving as advocates for the sport and its athletes. A live broadcast is planned, but no network or streaming platform has been named, and the announcement doesn’t mention tickets.

The NFL’s Pro Bowl announcement calls it “a showcase of the professional flag league the NFL is creating in partnership with TMRW Sports.” NFL FLAG says that league will launch ahead of flag football’s Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

What other flag football is planned for Super Bowl week?

The NFL says flag football events “highlighting multiple levels of the sport” will take place across Pro Bowl weekend and Super Bowl week in Los Angeles, but it hasn’t published a 2027 schedule. During Super Bowl LX week in 2026, besides the Pro Bowl Games, it staged five other flag events at the Flag Fieldhouse at Moscone Center South in San Francisco. They show what the week has included, not what Los Angeles will get.

One flag game held during Super Bowl week isn’t the NFL’s at all. The Celebrity Flag Football Challenge is produced by Celebrity Sweat and is separate from the Pro Bowl celebration and the Pro Flag Showcase; our Celebrity Flag Football Challenge guide covers it.

  • NFL Flag International Championship Listed for Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026: top under-13 coed teams from 14 countries in a three-day tournament.
  • NFL Flag Girls High School Showcase Tuesday, Feb. 3: 32 high school seniors, scheduled live during ESPN’s Postseason NFL Countdown.
  • Toyota Glow Up Classic Wednesday, Feb. 4: a glow-in-the-dark flag football game, per the NFL.
  • USA vs. Mexico Flag Football Showcase Thursday, Feb. 5: the U.S. and Mexico men’s national teams in an exhibition, scheduled live on the NFL’s YouTube channel.
  • Super Bowl LX Flag Football Game on YouTube Saturday, Feb. 7: the third NFL-YouTube flag game, with J. Balvin and Druski as captains and Deion Sanders coaching. The NFL said fans could attend with a ticket to the Super Bowl Experience.

Could fans attend past Pro Bowl Games?

Yes, at least through 2025. For the first Pro Bowl Games in Las Vegas in 2023, the NFL invited fans to register for a ticket presale and VIP packages. More than 55,000 fans attended the 2024 edition in Orlando, and for 2025, also in Orlando, the NFL sold tickets from $29 at ProBowl.com/tickets.

Sources disagree about 2026, when the event moved indoors to the Moscone Center during Super Bowl LX week. Front Office Sports reported in October 2025 that it “will be ticketed and open to fans,” while Sports Video Group wrote that it would be staged as “an exclusively televised event for the first time.” Neither tells us whether the 2027 celebration will admit fans.

How the Pro Bowl has changed since 1951

The NFL held its Pro Bowl game from 1951 to 2022, then replaced it with the Pro Bowl Games, which paired skills competitions with an AFC-NFC flag football game, for four editions.

Get help from StubOrder
Is the 2027 Pro Bowl a game?

No. The 2027 class will be honored at a celebration rather than a contest, because the NFL has dropped the AFC-NFC game. The Pro Bowl Games name belonged to the 2023–2026 format of skills events and a flag football game.

When is the 2027 Pro Bowl celebration?

The NFL hasn’t set a date. It has said only that the class will gather in Los Angeles during the traditional Pro Bowl weekend, with more details to come.

Can I buy tickets to the 2027 Pro Bowl celebration?

Not as of October 13, 2026. The NFL has described a celebration for players and their families and hasn’t mentioned a public sale or fan access. StubOrder’s NFL Pro Bowl page had no events that day.

When is the 2027 Pro Bowl roster announced?

In late December, according to the NFL. Starting with the 2026 season, the class has 88 players, chosen by an equal-weighted vote of players, coaches and fans, and there are no replacement selections.

When is the Pro Flag Showcase?

There’s no exact date yet, Field Level Media reported on September 21, 2026. The NFL and TMRW Sports have said only that it will kick off Super Bowl LXI week in Los Angeles.

Where will the Pro Flag Showcase be held?

At a custom-built venue somewhere in Los Angeles. The organizers haven’t disclosed its location.

Do NFL players compete in the Pro Flag Showcase?

The announcement doesn’t say they will. It promises the world’s top flag football players, while NFL Pro Bowlers, Hall of Famers and other legends act as advocates for the sport.

Who is TMRW Sports?

TMRW Sports is the company behind the TGL indoor golf league. Sportico reports it was founded in 2022 by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Mike McCarley. It’s the NFL’s partner on a new professional flag football league.

Has the Pro Bowl been played in Los Angeles before?

Yes. Los Angeles hosted the first 21 Pro Bowls, Cox Media Group reported in August 2026, before Hawaii took over from 1980 through 2009.

Is the Celebrity Flag Football Challenge an NFL event?

No. It’s a Celebrity Sweat production, not one of the NFL’s Super Bowl week flag events such as the Pro Flag Showcase or the NFL’s YouTube game.
